2-302's Three Steps of Wall Street Research

Class 2-302 completed the three steps of research about Wall Street in the PS 112 school library!

The first step of research is what do I know. Here is what class 2-302 knew about Wall Street before they started their research.

Neveah - Wall Street makes a lot of money and they “bought it low and sold it high.”

Poseidon - During the Depression, people lost all their money and they couldn’t buy clothes or pay their rent. The stores were closed.

Jhonni - Wall Street has many statues.

Zenobia - Wall Street has the New York Stock Exchange.

Jerrell - They share and trade.

Phoenix - They moved the Fearless Girl so that she wouldn’t be next to the bull.

Selena - They make suits.

Kamani - The Wall Street neighborhood has a park called Battery Park.

Clarissa - There’s a building called Serenity Church. It’s a big church. There’s also the Statue of the Fearless Girl and the Bull.

Aubrey - Wall Street is downtown.

Iyana - There is a bull statue.

Ricky - I know about the tall buildings that they are high.

We grouped these questions together for the third step of research, which is searching for facts. First we use books and then we use computers. Here were the answers class 2-302 found to their questions about Wall Street.

Neveah, Johnni, Selena, Kamani, and Phoenix: Wall Street is called Wall Street because in 1653 they built a wall to protect themselves. So it's called Wall Street.

Zenobia, Aubrey, Iyana, and Ricky: In 2017, the Fearless Girl statue was put in front of the Charging Bull Statue. Arturo Di Modica, the artist who made the Charging Bull Statue, was angry because it looked like the bull was mad at the girl, but it wasn't. Fearless Girl was moved to in front of the New York Stock Exchange. Fearless Girl was made by Kristen Visbal.

Jerrell - They make money at the New York Stock Exchange. The more money the companies make, the more money you get!

Clarissa and Poseidon - People traveled by boat in the 1600s. They place where they might have attacked us would be near the water when they got off their boats, so that that is where the wall was built and that is why it is called Wall Street.
